Yet another reward has been given to a whistleblower by the SEC for providing the agency with information that led to multiple enforcement actions against lawbreakers.
More than $900,000 was rewarded this week to the whistleblower, the second award handed out by the SEC in less than one week, according to a recent release.
On Wednesday, December 5, the agency also announced a $3.5 million reward to an individual that provided valuable information that led to an SEC enforcement action.
Since the whistleblower program’s inception, the SEC has awarded more than $136 million to 37 whistleblowers that voluntarily provided information.
