Top risk and technology experts will give talks on such topics as establishing trust in the cloud and managing cyber-risk next month at the top conference for IT auditors.

The keynote addresses are set for the IT Audit & Controls (ITAC) conference taking place in New Orleans next month on December 6-8. Among the speakers that will provide IT auditors with insights on emerging technology and their related risks are executives from Dropbox, Juniper Networks, Ball Corp., and others.

During the opening keynote address, Tolga Erbay, senior manager of security risk and compliance at Dropbox, will discuss steps IT audit organizations can take as well as what they should demand from cloud providers to renew faith in the security of data stored in the cloud. He will examine perception vs. reality of cloud computing and dispel some common myths, as well as look at the relationship between risk and trust and the auditor's role in managing those risks and establishing trust.

On day two, Norman Marks, a self-titled "risk evangelist" and author of World-Class Risk Management, will share his views on how organizations must balance the cybersecurity equation of limited resources and ever-present threats. He will seek to answer the question: How much cyber-risk should we take? During his talk, Marks will provide some forward thinking on how organizations should view risk and risk-taking and how those essential ideas are at the core of value creation.

Next up will be Brijen Joshi, director of global IT audit at Juniper Networks. Joshi will relay his journey in building a world-class IT audit function and how he keeps up with stakeholders' expectations. According to Joshi, the current information technology landscape has become very complex and dynamic. IT risks are constantly evolving. He will discuss how the risks can be related to anything from cybersecurity, cloud, and mobility to traditional ERP implementation, operations, or IT compliance matters.

In addition to these keynote discussions, IT audit executives from such companies as Johnson & Johnson, Prudential, Expedia, Lockheed Martin, and many others will provide insights and strategies on several issues and topics related to IT audit.
